 Tour 3 - The Inishowen, Dunree Fort & Famine Village Tour

Enjoy the scenic drive along the Inishowen Peninsula travelling through Quigley’s Point and Carndonagh before arriving at the Doagh Famine Village where you will have free time to explore Ireland’s history from the past to recent times including old traditions and customs etc. The Irish Wake, the Presbyterian Meeting House, The Republican Safe House, The Mass Rock and The Orange Hall. Then we will travel to Dunree Fort which commands a majestic view of Lough Swilly and its shoreline. The site houses a Military Museum, Exhibition Centre, Cafeteria, Wildlife Discovery Room and scenic walks before returning to the city via Buncrana. This tour will last approx. 6 hours

Please note there is a charge for admission to the Famine Village of €7 per person, this price includes tea, scones and guided tour. Opening hours of Famine Village are 10am to 5.30pm. The Famine Village becomes Ireland`s Lapland in the months of November and December. Please note there is an admission charge to Dunree Fort of €4 per person. Dunree Fort is open June to September 10.30 am - 6.30pm Mon-Sat and 12noon - 6.00pm Sun. Please phone for price for larger groups.
